Beetle - Rhyzobius lophanthae

Beetle - Rhyzobius lophanthae
Roseville, Placer County, California, USA
July 16, 2010
Size: 2 mm
Captured at a light.

Moved
Moved from Rhyzobius.

R. lophanthae
The pronotum is definitely brownish in this photo.

Moved
Moved from Scymninae.

Definitely genus Rhyzobius; probably R. lophanthae, but I can't rule out R. forestieri from this rather dark photo. R. lophanthae should be distinctly reddish, especially on the pronotum, while R. forestieri is entirely dark.

Moved
Moved from Lady Beetles.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Stethorus or thereabouts would be my best guess
looks a bit too hairy, though; pls move it to LBs and wait for Mrs. Parker's input
