Tipula (Tipula) species
This is a female crane fly belongs to the Tipula (Tipula) group. There are two recently introduced species in this group that occur in your area. Tipula (Tipula) paludosa andTipula (Tipula) oleracea Both species are similar in appearance. They are from Europe and have established themselves in the New World and have become pest on lawn. Check with your local Agriculture Extension to get more information on them - Chen
