Coelidia olitoria subspecies floridana
This is, by far, the furthest north that this form has ever been reported. Is this a sign of global warming? Note the progression recorded for this subspecies: It was known only from FL in 1982. BugGuide contributors began finding it in GA and SC (2005), VA (2006), AL (2007), LA (2008) and one was found as far north as Baltimore in 2007 (which is not really all that unexpected, as palm trees can grow as far north as DC). We also began seeing them as far northwest as OK (2007). Today we heard of one from IA (#428498) and now southern WI!
