Unidentified - Sigela

Unidentified - Sigela
Bartlesville, Washington County, Oklahoma, USA
July 20, 2010
Wasted a lot of time in looking in Geometrids until coming across Bob Patterson's Moth Talk note on
Noctuids that might look like this, namely Quandara brauneata - which turned out to be now called
Sigela brauneata. Sigela pinned specimens looked close but not good enough.
Checking to see what has shown up in BOLD, I found it as an undescribed Sigela species there BOLD
It will be submitted to join those specimens. They also came from this part of the country.
And, found at UV light near pond in wooded area of a flood plain.

DNA results
DNA barcoding has confirmed the Sigela genus level, BOLD LPOKE064-10
IThis specimen is shown here: BOLD:AAE1159
