Centipede Texas (Scolopendra polymorpha) - Scolopendra polymorpha

Centipede Texas (Scolopendra polymorpha) - Scolopendra polymorpha
Near Buffalo Gap, Texas, Taylor County, Texas, USA
May 24, 2009
Size: About 5 inches
We live in a 26 year old authentic log cabin. This one crawled inside, from between the logs, into my son's room. My husband caught it with a leather glove on his hand, it tried to bite him. These things are very aggressive. I'd rather deal with a snake than one of these. We've since had our cabin re-chinked between the logs, so we will hopefully not have these visitors inside anymore. Of course, we took it out on the land and set it free.

I'll Bet...
one of those would put a hurtin' on you if you were to roll over on it in your sleep!
