Size: 1 inch
This is a lovely , yet camouflaged Moth found in a new forest at the River Bottom, This Canopy full of Hackberry, honey locust paw paw and understory growth , Mostly soft wood. About half dollar size, Had some white and chocolate brown underneath , visible in flight. Any Help with this ID would Be great Thank you Kathleen Chute

Leaning towards
Catocala obscura. It's either that or residua - obscura has a white fringe instead of a gray-brown fringe as in residua.
