Small pupa found on Hackberry - Chlosyne lacinia

Small pupa found on Hackberry - Chlosyne lacinia
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA

A Checkerspot pupa
of the genus Chlosyne. Based on where taken, and the coloring of the pupa, it is going to be C. lacinia, the Bordered Patch. Must be some Sunflower or something related growing close to the Hackberry tree. The caterpillars tend to wander to find a place to pupate. Perhaps it's one of the same caterpillars you photographed earlier?

C. lacinia pupa
Wow, thanks. We have thousands of the adult Bordered Patch and their caterpillars. This is the first pupa I've seen.
Thanks
