tiny beetle on my arm! -
Cerotoma trifurcata
Madison, Madison County, Alabama, USA
July 12, 2010
Size: small
Found this beetle crawling on top of my bed, put it on my arm to try to photograph it. It ran around a lot, it was hard to get it to sit still for a photo.

Cerotoma trifurcata
Hello all, thanks for the help, but I looked at the other Cerotoma trifurcata images on BugGuide. They had spots on the back, this one does not. Is there a reason why this should be?
And I looked up still more information on BugGuide...they can have no spots or vary in how they look. Ok, interesting. Cerotoma trifurcata it is! Thanks again.

Cropping
The beetle looks small to most users because the image isn't properly cropped. Only you and the editors can see your full-size images, everyone else sees a picture of your arm (mostly). Crop your images closer to "just the bug" and your chances of getting an ID will improve and maybe they won't end up in Frass either. You can click "edit" to update this when it is properly cropped.

Is this better? I am afraid I am not a wiz with such things.
