Saltonia incerta (captive) - Saltonia incerta
Bristol Dry Lake near Amboy Rd., San Bernardino County, California, USA
April 18, 2010
Size: approx. 3.5 mm
While Bugguide normally prefers wild spiders, I didn't see another opportunity to add this uncommon species to the forum, especially because I have all of the pertinent information regarding its place of origin. It lives under the salt flats that line old desert riverbeds and lakeshores. According to Sarah Crews, individuals from the Death Valley region are slightly longer legged and paler pink.

Very interesting, R.J.! I'd like to see those salt flats someday. :)
