a female Conehead Katydid,
genus Neoconocephalus. To make ID easiest, it's good to have a shot face-on, showing the underside of the cone between the eyes. A shot from above doesn't hurt, and sometimes (in females) a veiw of the entire ovipositor is good. N. triops is common in the south, and this may be that one.
