underwing spp. - Euparthenos nubilis
Palmyra Cove Nature Park, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
July 23, 2010
Size: around 2.5 in wide
The photo was taken with a phone and it was cloudy - sorry for the quality. I couldn't find a photo that matched well. It was resting on the Delaware River bank. Underwings were brighter than what comes through in the photo. Any suggestions?

Locust Underwing
Definitely a Locust Underwing (Euparthenos nubilis) based on what is showing of the hindwing.

Underwing or relative?
Looking through the guides and your site again, could it be a charming underwing, Catocala blandula, or a Locust Underwing, Euparthenos nubilis? Thanks.
