Tiny Rough Beetle - Bitoma quadricollis

Tiny Rough Beetle - Bitoma quadricollis
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
July 21, 2010
Size: <.5 cm
This tiny beetle was tucked into a crack in the mortar of the bricks and would have gone unnoticed except that I was taking pictures of a caddisfly whose head it was right near.

going on a limb here... feels good, though :]

Ooo! That's exciting!
Maybe I'll see another. The beetles have started to show up... One tiny one made an appearance right on my drawing/photography table last night, uninvited but not unwelcome. I think it's one I've already posted here, but I took the opportunity for a photoshoot anyway, as it was sitting there on a white piece of paper.
