spider wasp with prey - Agenioideus humilis - female

spider wasp with prey - Agenioideus humilis - Female
Brosard, Quebec, Canada
July 20, 2010
Size: 8mm
As before but showing the wings slightly open.

A smallish wasp carrying a spider (proably Araneus diadematus). The wasp was hauling the spider up a wall, and slid down on several attempts. She then just pulled the spider back up the wall until she reached the aluminum siding above, which appeared to be an obstacle and then pulled the spider sideways. She walked backwards at all times.

Having gone through the bugguide looking for small spider wasps that prey on Araneus species, I think this may be Agenioideus humilis but my confidence limits on this are not great. Any help would be very much appreciated
