Cool
Cool weevil! Looks like the white coloration is provided by white scales.

Citrus Root Weevil - Diaprepes abbreviatus

Thanks
Stephen and j&j.

Just got a flyer from Cal. Dept of Food & Agriculture
It says in part:

"The weevil was accidentally introduced into Florida in the 1960s and caused extensive damage. It has been intercepted in shipments of plants to California." Said to feed on some 270 different plants, it's called a "significant threat to both urban and agricultural trees and plants." Adults feed on leaves; larvae on roots.

Sounds like a nasty little dude!
