Adult male L. bishopi may be the largest of the male widow species in the US. Male L. hesperus can be quit large as well.
BL of the red widow may reach 9mm and a leg span up to 45mm. This specimen is 7 x 40.

The hourglass is likely as developed as they get with L. bishopi. Note it is split. A more common trait is males and females with only the anterior half of the hourglass.
