Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
February 16, 2006
Size: 2.4 mm. (curled position)
I believe this is a Cigarette Beetle (Lasioderma serricorne). A number were found in home, traced to old box of pancake mix. Confirmation would be appreciated.

I confirm L.serricorne

Lasioderma serricorne
is what it looks like to me too. I found loads of images on the Web (once I used the correct spelling :-), as you would expect for any economically important pest.

Thank You...
Thanks for the ID of the critter...It had a cute face under the microscope
