Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge, Contra Costa County, California, USA
September 10, 2008
I got this photo of the endangered Lange's metalmark (Apodemia mormo langei) while participating in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's annual butterfly count at the Antioch Dunes, which is the last patch of habitat left for this subspecies.
