Promachus hinei - female

Promachus hinei - Female
Slip Bluff Park, Decatur County, Iowa, USA
July 25, 2010
Looking for a confirmation as I don't believe this species is on any robber fly lists for Iowa.

Moved
Moved from Robber Flies.

Indeed
That is the southern row of counties in that state and the most likely to have this species overlap in range with vertebratus. As far as I know that is a state record. Nice female.

Thank you for the confirmation. I have yet to see P. vertebratus and P. hinei at the same site in southern Iowa, but have only started paying close attention recently.

Moved from ID Request. Robber flies can be submitted directly to family page for ID.
