Pentagramma bivittata
These Delphacids like tall reeds (Juncus validus) standing in water around the edges of ponds and lakes. I have not seen ones with striped eyes before; presumably this is caused by light diffraction in live individuals. When specimens are dried, the cuticle shrinks, and "structural colours" such as this get lost.

I added a habitat shot for this species (or at least, this individual). Yes, it was found on a blade of grass next to the Mojave River, in one of the few areas where the river flows above ground all year round. There is quite a lot of wildlife in the vicinity of this river.
