Corticaria elongata

Corticaria elongata
~95 km NW of Peace River, Alberta, Canada
July 23, 2008
Size: 1.5 mm
Collected from trembling aspen logs on the ground of a deciduous dominated forest. Clear identification is possible for this species which hasn't been well recorded in North America.

The pronotum is more quadrate/slightly trasverse than other Corticaria species I've encountered, with distinct teeth on the hind angles. Color is mostly light yellow-tan or sometimes yellow-rufous. Confirmation of determination was made by genitalia dissection using Majka et al 2009.
