katydid nymph -
Microcentrum retinerve
Springfield, Virginia, USA
May 19, 2004
A katydid nymph on a white peony. It could be a Microcentrum sp., perhaps M. retinerve but not sure. Any help in identifying is appreciated.

Some photos just posted show one just like this maturing into
Microcentrum retinerve
; so, I think we can finally say that this is indeed a
Microcentrum
nymph, but I'm still not comfortable saying which one (but
M. retinerve
is certainly likely.

Legs too long.
Legs too long for a Microcentrum. One of the "false katydids" to be sure, though.
