Having such a difficult time identifying moths...uhg!

Moved
Moved from Ennominae.

BOLD has the genus listed as "RindgeaGEO" in the new (V4) system, which means that it won't come up in a normal search for the genus name, unless you search for "RindgeaGEO".

Moved
Moved from Frass.

Probably Sterrhinae, not Ennominae

Ennominae
I have to disagree with you there. The angle of the FW apex and tornus, the costa shape, as well as the FW/HW ratio, taken together, isn't correct for anything in Sterrhinae.

I had suggested in private correspondence with a couple of people more knowledgeable with western moths, a possibly very worn female Rindgea maricopa, which is known in southern California. It was concurred a very likely probability, but no commitment given the state of wear, albeit it seems everyone agreed it is something near Digrammia/Rindgea.

Here's a photo of R. maricopa from BOLD for comparison:

Frass or keep?
Thanks for correcting me. Do you think it's worth keeping this image? I can move it back to Ennominae or to a lower level if you think it shouldn't be frassed.

Keep
I would say keep, mainly in hopes that others (particularly one of the western experts on BG) might comment their thoughts. If a consensus agrees on the ID, we would have a valuable addition.

I meant to come back and comment on the possible ID a long time ago, but it slipped by, so I'm glad you moved it and called attention to it again. If anything, now that some ID comments have been made, I think it's worth keeping around for a while longer.
