Lachesilla contraforcepeta - male

Lachesilla contraforcepeta - Male
San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, USA
July 29, 2010
Size: 2.1 mm
With Mockford's help, I was able to identify this specimen. The claspers in this species are faintly pigmented red and turn outward at the tip. In the male, the 2 red bars connecting the compound eye and antennal socket are paler than in the female. I found it on ashe juniper. L. contraforcepeta and L. forcepata look very similar and are found together on juniper.
