fly - Mydas maculiventris

fly - Mydas maculiventris
Davis/ Tree Tops County Park, Florida, USA
July 29, 2010
Size: 20 to 30 mm
medium sized fly. Flied fairly slow, almost like a moth. When wings were open,I saw a very colorful abdomen. Seemed to hover at tomes. I was only able to capture this image.

could be Phyllomydas.... images on BG show nice pattern on abdomen similar to what I saw in the field. Size also matches what I saw.
