I've seen lot this year; first time that's happened. But I'm around oak more. Try for a shot straight from the side, as they can be incredibly beautiful with loads of subtle color.

I did get some shots from different angles, and you're right: they do have some gorgeous colors. I used this one because it was one of the few that showed both underwing and top of wing.

I'm also going to go ahead and leave this one on the site as there are Calif. records for almost *every* other month...but not July! :)
