Melanocanthon sp. - Melanocanthon granulifer

Melanocanthon sp. - Melanocanthon granulifer
Three Lakes Wilderness Area, Osceola County, Florida, USA
July 29, 2010
Size: 10 mm
I am hoping with these photos that this can be placed to the correct species. Woodruff's key in Florida Scarabs lists M. punctaticollis, M. granulifer, and M. bispinatus. The key is confusing for a novice like myself. Any help in correct placement would be appreciated. At first I was hoping it could be Boreocanthon depressipennis, but closer examination of the protonum yeild the wrong shape.

Thanks for your ID.
I had a hunch one of these would ID to this species.
