Moved
Moved from Asiatic Garden Beetle. You almost have to pull the genitalia to ID the vast majority of these to species.

I'm skeptical
Just looks like a run of the mill Serica sp. to me - was ID done with actual specimen?

ID
Yes, He looked at the specimen in hand, under his scope. If these
submissions are going to cause a problem between you experts, I will
withdraw them.

Don't do that
If he actually saw the specimen, good enough for me. Such discordance of opinions should never be a problem [should in fact be encouraged] on Bugguide - IDs from photos are often tough and EVERYONE make mistakes. I'd like to think we're all grown ups [big kids] here.

So keep the submissions coming!

ID
Did I ID this? I know I looked at several sericines for you when you swung by, and I don't remember them individually, but this does not look like Serica to me. The tibia look too narrow (Maladera has broad, flared-out hind tibiae). If I did ID this, than yeah I made a boo-boo (Sorry :).

Come to think of it I don't remember anything from TX. Texas would've sent up a red flag, as I am pretty sure M. castanea is not that far west (yet).

Oops
I meant to say 'does not look like Maladera'...it does look like Serica. But, it looks like my point was understood :-)

Glad you chimed in
It just didn't look right ... moved to Serica

yup... too skinny for a Maladera, etc.
NB: Mathison, not 'Maithson' (name misspelled here and elsewhere in your remarks)
