Mystery caterpillar... - Chlosyne lacinia

Mystery caterpillar... - Chlosyne lacinia
Horseshoe Bend, Weatherford, Parker County, Texas, USA
July 21, 2010
I just spent an hour going through the caterpillars here on Bugguide and looking through my books, and I have not found this one. So, I am posting here. I am sure it is a common cat, but I need help to ID it. All help appreciated!

Moved from ID Request.

The Mourning Cloak is indeed closely related,
but not it. The Bordered Patch - Chlosyne lacinia is exactly what it is.

Thanks David.
Appreciate the help.

another possibility

This is it!
Thanks!

Maybe
it is a Mourning Cloak caterpillar (spiny elm caterpillar)? Just a semi-educated guess...

has a typical nymphalid look, but i'm no expert
