Pristepyris armiferus
-
East Greenwich, Kent County, Rhode Island, USA
August 2, 2010
Size: ~8-10mm
This walked into my shot, startled me, startled the fly I was intending to shoot,
took over the shot & flew away.
Weird angle makes it look like its got a baby crows' head

Fair enough.
After seeing some better photos of the critter, I see how pitted the integument is. Had I gotten a better shot, that might have led me towards Chrysidoidea if I was thinking straight.
It's always nice to see something new.
