Acanthoscelides - Bruchidius villosus

Acanthoscelides - Bruchidius villosus
New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada
July 5, 2010
Size: ~ 3 mm
I think this is a "pea and bean" weevil (Bruchinae of Chrysomelidae). It looks much like these three, which look much like each other: Stator pruininus, Anthoscelides aureolus, and Bruchidius villosus. On a floribunda rose called 'Rainbow Sorbet.'

Moved tentatively; has to be this one, rather
you were right including it in the differential

Moved from Acanthoscelides.

Acanthoscelides of sorts

Thanks
Nice to get to know this one a little better. I've seen it around for a few years, especially in large pink rose blossoms.
