Walker's Darner - Aeshna walkeri - female

Walker's Darner - Aeshna walkeri - Female
Fremont, Alameda County, California, USA
July 31, 2010
Size: 7x11cm
Preliminary identification by Tim Manolis via Kathy Biggs using white thoracic stripes and habitat (near wooded canyon w/ stream).

Pale blue on wing-tips is unexplained. It is visible in flight. Tim writes "it is well-defined in the exact same spot in each picture and is strikingly bilaterally symmetrical on only the front pair of wings." Possibly from emergence?
