Size: 2.4 mm
Identified based on shape and pigmentation of the subgenital plate and color pattern of body and wings. Found on dead branch of chinaberry with persistent brown leaves.

Lachesilla tropica
L. tropica and L. penta look very similar in macro shots and occupy the same habitat (dead persistent leaves on hanging branches)but when examined in the dissecting microscope the 2 species can be distinguished by the subgenital plate in the female and claspers and phallosome in the male. See North American Psocoptera Ed Mockford 1993.

Lachesilla tropica
Dear v belov.. I am now performing dissections on the male and female specimens featured in my photos to obtain a better look at the genitalia. This is a tough group so I hope every one will be patient with this novice. Mockford warned me that in the lachesillids there are many species that are very similar.
