Sphex with Strepsipteran parasite - Eupathocera westwoodi

Sphex with Strepsipteran parasite - Eupathocera westwoodi
Dearborn, Wayne County, Michigan, USA
August 1, 2010
I relocated and captured this Sphex and cooled it in the fridge and took this photo at around 50x. Any advice on how to keep them both alive to see if the parasite is a male and emerges? Can it be extracted?
