This large millipede was found in the basement of our home in a damp corner that has been seeping in water from outdoors; a second specimen was captured later that day, and two have been spotted also in the garage. It looks to be some kind of Xystodesmidae species. It produces a strong defensive odor that smells like almond, and glows blue-green underneath a black light.
