Trimerotropis latifasciata - male

Trimerotropis latifasciata - Male
Gloss Mountain State Park, Major County, Oklahoma, USA
July 3, 2010
A different individual from the one in this photo.

I would need to look at it mo
I would need to look at it more closely, but it more closely resembles T. pallidipennis.

Note the hind tibia coloring.
T. latifasciata (laticincta), is pretty common in that area, where it mostly inhabits the silty clay flats near the bases of the bluffs (if there is Saltgrass, you will probably find this species). However, it wanders from it's prefered habitat more than some, and is drawn to lights at night, so it often turns up in towns, and in other places one might not expect it. I have specimens from there myself. T. pallidipennis is in the area too, as are T. saxatilis, T. maritima citrina, and some other less similar relatives.
