Sawfly from New Hampshire - Diprion similis
Moultonborough, Carroll County, New Hampshire, USA

Diprion similis is the closest match for this guy I could find on BugGuide, but I am not familiar with these sawflies (or any hymenopterans, for that matter), so if anyone can suggest an alternate ID, I'm all ears. This one was found nearly dead in a mixed hardwood / coniferous forested area by Lake Kanasatka.

Diprionidae
OK for Diprion similis (Hartig), male, the "introduced pine sawfly"
