Lit briefly on a fern. Sunny day - 28 degrees C and humid in a city park.

Excellent candidate, but I'm guessing Xanthomelanodes
I haven't noticed these until recently. They look nearly identical to Cylindromyia, except for a shorter abdomen and, arguably, different posture. Will eagerly await an expert verdict!
