One of the Pinions
such as Lithophane innominata, Wagner pg 405, but there's just too many of them for us. We're waiting anxiously for Wagner's new book on the Noctuids to come out!

How about Lithophane disposita - Dashed Gray Pinion? I recently found two of the moths in the same area where this caterpillar was found several years ago. Plus -- the caterpillar strongly resembles the Lithophane disposita in

. But I just noticed there's an additional note regarding the moth which may involve Lithophane disposita actually having two species listed under the same name.

This cat does show quite a resemblance to the two darker ones shown for the Lithophane innominata. Dec. 15 2011 -- Also resembles Lithophane oriunda
