It's a little hard to make out from the image but I'm putting my money on Pantala. I work with dragonfly naiads a lot, including this genus. They really like to breed in small bodies of water (ie, puddles, water features, etc).

Dragonfly Nymph
I don't know much more than that this is a nymph that will eventually turn into a dragonfly and that I was catching them as an 8 yr old too!

Any idea what length of time it takes for it to go from its current form to a winged dragonfly?
