Thankfully these aphids seem to only be on the vetch plants in our yard - leaving everything else alone. Good Aphid :-)

Thanks Andrew !
We have had this yard for over 25 years and I have never noticed anything like this year. We have lots of wild vetch growing in many different areas of the yard and on every plant everywhere they were covered with these tiny guys, didn't notice them on any other plants all summer/fall. In fact I swear that I even saw some on a vetch after a light frost if that is possible.

Non-native
It is not a native. It was introduced in 1965 and it is probably spreading.

They will have a better chance for ID in Aphididae (but don't hold your breath :)
Would you believe that there are studies about aphids that specialize on weeds and on their attendant ants? They are useful in Integrated Pest Management.

Thanks Beatriz
Well... these guys sure like vetch. Good weed control. :-)
