Monarch Caterpillar and Anchor Stink Bug - Stiretrus anchorago

Size: about 1/2 in.
The monarch caterpillar was being chased around the swamp milkweed stem. The cat kept turning its head back as if it were nipping at the bug. What is the bug, please? What info can you give me about this chase?

Thank you! Predatory stink bug is a very good start. The one you indicated is a different color and has slightly different markings. I'd still like a name for my green and white bug!

Predatory Stinkbug
You are seeing a predatory stinkbug, perhaps this one or a close relative, eating the caterpillar. Notice the bug's extended proboscis, which it uses as a drinking straw. The caterpillar is thrashing about in an attempt to escape.
