My first reaction to this spi
My first reaction to this spider was that it was a wolf spider but I did not think they got that large. I wish I had gotten a better photo of the eyes.

 
No need,
the eyes are clear enough to be definite for a wolf spider. The Hogna genus get fairly larger, which this one might be.

I live 1/8th of a mile from a
I live 1/8th of a mile from a small lake...near woods and open fields. this spider was in my lawn in fresh grass clippings. It was near the yard light that attracts many insects/tree frogs/spiders at night.
