Blue-fronted Dancer - Argia apicalis - male

Blue-fronted Dancer - Argia apicalis - Male
Millville, Cumberland County, New Jersey, USA
August 7, 2010
Found in a freshwater, tidally influenced area along the Maurice River.
The closest that I can get to this is Pale Bluet, but Lam's map doesn't show it in NJ. However, it is nearby in Delaware, and extreme southern NJ is always full of surprises.

Moved from ID Request.

I think that Argia apicalis is a possibility.
The blue Enallagmas all seem to have the segments one and two with blue on them, whereas your photo shows them to be dull colored.

You're right. Thanks. Argia
You're right. Thanks. Argia didn't really occur to me, so I missed that section of the book. Females (not photographed) did have the extensive blue thorax as well, as shown in Lam's blue form female.
