Ambrosiodmus sp.?
Definitely a Scolytid, tribe Scolytini, in the Xyleborina (ambrosia beetles) probably the genus Ambrosiodmus sp. I can't see the antennal club, but the roundish pronotum, and the granules or denticles on the elytral declivity seem to match the genus. These species seem to start flying around April here in WV, but being in NC, it probably flies earlier.
