~30 described spp. in our area (the actual number probably much lower), ~130 total

Old World + NA (so. Canada to Mexico)

Habitat
unlike most genera in the family, adults on flowers, esp. Asteraceae

Food
larvae develop within flower heads of particular Asteraceae, are more host specific and feed only on fluids

Remarks
our sole representative of the Olibrus-group (2 genera total; worldwide except the Neotropics)
