Olibrus Erichson 1845
Numbers
~30 described spp. in our area (the actual number probably much lower), ~130 total(1); this is currently the largest genus in Phalacridae in terms of described species, but many (especially Oriental) spp. will probably be removed(2)

1.1–3.9 mm(3)
Identification
shape of last antennomere (the 11th) diagnostic:
Range
Old World + NA (so. Canada to Mexico)(2)
Habitat
unlike most genera in the family, adults on flowers, esp. Asteraceae(2)
Food
larvae develop within flower heads of particular Asteraceae, are more host specific and feed only on fluids(2)
Remarks
our sole representative of the Olibrus-group (2 genera total; worldwide except the Neotropics)(2)
