Luna Moth questions

I have lived in Kennebunk, ME, for almost three years. Before that I had lived in Dedham, ME, where I saw many luna moths and other interesting insects. I have not seen any luna moths (or any silk moths or sphinxes for that matter) near my house. But in Wells, the next town over, I have found many different saturnids and sphingids at store lights: luna moth, polyphemus moth, apple sphinx, rosy maple moth, pawpaw sphinx moth, even hummingbird moth (that's another question: why would a hummingbird moth be at a light?). This does not make any sense to me because I have all the right food plants on my property, and Wells is more populated and filled with humans then Kennebunk. Does it have something to do with pesticides? I thought salt air from the ocean, but Wells is just as close as Kennebunk to the Atlantic. Why? Why? Why??? I hope that there is an explanation for this strange event.

One problem...
I am not sure if it is actually pesticides he is using.
On another note, I found out that behind the store I always find critters near, there is a large wooded area. Since there are less people living around that store, and lots of food plants, that solves the mystery of why there are so many interesting insects at that store's lights.

Mystery Solved (sort of)
A neighbor is spraying chemicals on his property. If these are insecticides, then that explains why the only insects I see around my house are introduced species and a few natives. Now I need another spot to search for insect life!

Contact resources...
If your neighbor's insecticide use is affecting the wildlife on your property, you can actually contact local authorities like the USDA and your local University Extension Office. This would be the same as him using a fertilizer and it contaminating your water supply. Stand up for your critters! If he's using insecticides and they are doing that much damage, it is completely overkill.
