Lycid pupa - Lycostomus sanguineus Organ Mts. foothills, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA December 26, 2005 Size: 20 - 21 mm
This is the pupa that developed inside the "dead" larva. It is not only identifiable now as a lycid, but, because of the snoutish appearance of the face, a member of genus Lycus.
