This is a completely different specimen, much larger and redder than but now that I have them on my monitor I wonder if they are the same species. Similar coloration, especially on the wings, and with the same tickmarks on both wings.

Band-winged meadowhawk
Sympetrum semicinctum, a male. It's one of the smaller dragonflies.
