BG2348 E7612 - Xanthochroa lateralis
Baton Rouge, Hilltop Arboretum, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA

Size: body length 12.1 mm.
We believe this is a False Blister Beetle. The best match we found was Xanthochroa lateralis or possibly a related species.
Placement would be appreciated.

Might be: Xanthochroa erythrocephala (Germar)

Xanthochroa erythrocephala (Germar) was recently coll. in east Texas (EGR pers. comm., 2012).

Arnett (1) only records Xanthochroa lateralis (Melsheimer) from FL, SC.
