Epicauta - Epicauta tricostata

Epicauta - Epicauta tricostata
Willcox Playa, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
August 10, 2010
Size: 6 mm
Elytra not just striped but striated. Mostly on Solanaceae

Epicauta tricostata (Werner) -- det. J.D. Pinto
Moved from Epicauta.

Epicauta albolineata (Duges, 1887)
This keys out well to E. albolineata in Warner et al's 1966 treatment of the Meloidae of Arizona. There is a note that it was collected outside Willcox on the grass, Aristida. Other records include: 'Cochise Co; 32 mi. SE Willcox' so it is definately in the area.

Do you know which subgenus we are dealing with?

not really
BG doesnt seem to be exactly the same as Werner et al.

Seeme a real nice fit
thanks again, Blaine!
